How to Connect to dApps and Web3 apps with the Magic Eden App

This guide outlines how you can connect with dApps and Web3 platforms using your Magic Eden App.

Introduction to dApps and Web3

Decentralized applications (dApps) utilize blockchain technology for various functionalities, from gaming to DeFi.

Step-by-step: Linking to Web3 apps (Mobile)

  • Open the mobile app and navigate to the Browser page (Globe icon).

  • From the mobile app options, your can search for any dApp within the search bar or select any of the dApps you would like to connect to.

  • Once in a dApp, look for the "Connect" or "Connect Wallet" option.

  • Select your wallet.

  • Select your network (If applicable).

  • A prompt will appear. Click "Connect" to link your Magic Eden Mobile App.

  • Once you click on connect, you will be prompted with a signature request.

Step-by-step: Linking to Web3 apps (Desktop)

  • Open the Web3 dApp and look for the "Connect" or "Connect Wallet" option.

  • From the wallet options, select "Magic Eden".

  • A prompt will appear. Click "Connect" to link your Magic Eden Wallet.

Connecting when Magic Eden isn't listed (Desktop)

If Magic Eden isn't displayed as an option, use the "Prioritize Magic Eden" feature and select an alternative wallet to initiate the connection. This does not apply to mobile users.

How to Activate the 'Prioritize Magic Eden' Function

  • Within the Magic Eden App, click the Settings icon in the top right corner of the Portfolio or Discover page

  • Locate the 'Prioritize Magic Eden' toggle. Click on it to set Magic Eden as your default browser wallet.

When "Prioritize Magic Eden" is activated, you have the option to choose other wallet providers to connect with the Magic Eden App. If you are connecting to a Solana dApp, we recommend selecting the Phantom option. For Ethereum or Polygon, choose Metamask. The Magic Eden App will then pop up, enabling you to connect as usual.

Managing Web3 connections

Removing a connection guide

  • Navigate to the settings page, click on 'Connected Sites'.

  • On the Connected Sites page, here you will be able to search all of the dApps you are connected to, and filter by the blockchain they are on.

  • You can select each dApp you want disconnect from by using the gear icon on the right, next to the dApp.

  • You will see which approvals each dApp has, and can disconnect using the pink "Disconnect" button.

Staying safe in the Web3 environment

Never provide your 12-word phrase or private keys while connecting to Web3 platforms. Ensure to connect only with reputable and trusted apps and always disconnect after use for added security.
