Magic Eden's platform offers users the opportunity to earn rewards in $ME tokens through staking and completing activities. If you're holding $ME and want to maximize your participation in the ecosystem, here's how to get started:

What is the 'Rewards' feature?

The Rewards button on the Magic Eden platform enables users to earn rewards in $ME tokens by doing two tasks:

Staking tokens: Lock up your $ME tokens to earn staking power and multiplier rewards AND
Completing reward-eligible activities: Participate in platform activities to earn trading rewards. Rewards are calculated through a formula that combines your trading volume and staking power throughout the course of a Season. Season 2 will last from April 17 to around mid-August.

With the Rewards feature, you can actively contribute to the Magic Eden ecosystem while growing your rewards.

How to stake $ME tokens

Connect your Wallet: Ensure your wallet is connected to the Magic Eden platform and that you hold $ME tokens. You can use Magic Eden's wallet or any other wallet provider.
Navigate to the Rewards tab: Click the Rewards button on the Magic Eden platform (magiceden.io/rewards).
Choose amount to stake: Enter the amount of $ME tokens you wish to stake. Options like Half or Max are available for convenience.
Set a lockup period: Adjust the lockup duration using the slider. Longer lockup periods provide higher multipliers, increasing your staking power.
Confirm your stake: Review the details, including the stake end date, total staked, and your staking multiplier. Click Stake to confirm.

Once staked, your $ME tokens will be locked for the selected period, and your staking power will update accordingly.

Example: Staking $ME tokens

You stake 1 $ME Token for a 7-day lockup period.
Your staking power increases by 1.07, reflecting a 108% multiplier.
You'll receive a confirmation: "You staked additional 1 $ME and extended your lockup period."

Withdrawing staked tokens

Navigate to the Withdraw Tab: Click on the Withdraw button within the Rewards interface.
Review Details: Ensure your unlock period has ended.
Confirm Withdrawal: Click Withdraw to remove your staked tokens.

Completing Reward-eligible activities

Completing trading activities is the primary way to earn $ME trading rewards

New Activities are continuously released, so stay active to maximize your earnings.

Using the Rewards button to track rankings and rewards

The Rewards button on the Magic Eden platform also allows you to view your activity progress, staking details, and ranking tiers in real time.

What can you see with the rewards button?

Rankings across all trading activities:
- View your current ranking percentile (e.g., Top 1%, Top 5%, Top 10%).
- Rankings are based on your reward-eligible trading activity and staking power.
- Please note that you do NOT need to do all the activities to get to the top of the overall leaderboard. To reiterate, your global Leaderboard Rank is simply a function of your trading volume and your staking power. If you are someone who only trades NFTs or only does swaps but you do more of 1 activity than everyone else does across multiple activities, you will rank higher. With that being said, egregious acts of inorganic trading activity may be punished.
Tier Progress:
- The Earn interface highlights where you stand in the ranking tiers:
  - Top 1%: Highest contributors with maximum rewards.
  - Top 5%, Top 10%, Top 20%, and beyond: Rewards decrease progressively based on rank.
  - Real-Time Updates: Rankings are updated hourly.

Tip: Trade more and/or increase your staking power to climb to a higher tier. Rewards are distributed based on your rank.

Why rankings matter

Your activity ranking determines the amount of $ME rewards you receive at the end of each season. The higher your rank, the greater your rewards.

Example: Players in the Top 1% earn the largest share of $ME rewards, while those in the Top 10% receive a lesser amount of rewards. Rewards are distributed based an individual's placement, not their tranche. For example, users who share the top 10% percentile may receive varying amounts of $ME rewards.

Improving your rank

Stake more $ME: Increase your staking amount to increase staking power.
Stake $ME for longer: Lengthen your staking period to increase staking power.
Complete more activities: Engage with all available reward-eligible activities to maximize your score. Remember, you do not need to do all the activities -- you can improve your leaderboard rank while just focusing on 1 or a few activities.
Stay active: Complete swaps, trade NFTs, and trade Runes regularly to maintain progress.
