Understanding the New Wallet linking System for Rewards on Magic Eden

Below, we’ll walk you through what’s changing, how the new system works, and how to resolve any errors you might encounter.

Updated over a week ago

This update ensures all your wallets (SOL, EVM, BTC, etc.) are connected under a single account, improving usability across our platform. Below, we’ll walk you through what’s changing, how the new system works, and how to resolve any errors you might encounter.

The ME Foundation wallet linking system has been deprecated. There’s now only one place to manage linked wallets: MagicEden.io.

What’s Changing?

  • Wallet linking for Rewards and Staking are now managed directly on Magic Eden, not ME Foundation. This reduces the number of places people need to link their wallets.

  • Instead of managing separate wallets under different accounts, you will have one unified account that holds all your connected wallets.

  • Reminder: Linking your wallet isn’t just about convenience, it’s key to maximizing your rewards as you explore and interact across the Magic Eden ecosystem.

What do I need to do for Season 2? Relink Your Wallets!

As we enter Season 2, make sure to check that all your wallets are linked, even if you linked them during Season 1. Please make sure all your mobile and desktop wallets are linked together in 1 account.

Why do I need to relink?

The ME Foundation wallet linking system has been deprecated. Wallets linked through that system are no longer valid and will need to be linked again using Magic Eden’s updated flow.

For Desktop Wallets

If you’re using desktop wallets, follow these steps to re-link:

  1. Click + Link another wallet.

  2. Sign with the wallet you want to link and you’re done!

  • There’s currently no confirmation message, but once you’ve linked, you’ll see the wallet appear under your Wallet tab.

You can also do this on Mobile, but we recommend using desktop for an easier user experience!

Is there a penalty to linking my wallets?

No, there is no penalty though we highly encourage people to link their wallets. As a reminder, rewards are a function of your trading volume and Staking Power. The more you maximize both, the more rewards you will receive. There is no scenario in which someone will be penalized for linking multiple wallets.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

What happens if I don’t merge my wallets?

Linking wallets lets us ensure that we’re calculating all your activity correctly. Users should always link all their wallets to maximize their earning potential. If your wallet remains unlinked you may receive fewer rewards.

I already linked my wallets before, do I need to do anything?

If all your wallets are under the same Magic Eden account, no action is needed. Just make sure everything is linked, including both your mobile and desktop wallets!

I’m unable to merge my wallets, what should I do?

• Ensure you’re logged into the correct account, and follow the guide above.

• If issues persist, contact **Magic Eden Support.**

Error: “Multiple Users Found Linked to This Account”

If you see this error when linking your wallets specifically through the mobile app:

“Multiple users found linked to this account. Please use magiceden.io and make sure all addresses in this account are tied to a single user.”

This means some of your wallets are tied to different accounts. Here’s how to fix it:

  1. Go to magiceden.io and log in. (We recommend doing this on desktop, as the experience is much easier!)

  2. Check your linked wallets in Account Settings.

  3. Merge conflicting wallets into a single account.

  4. Return to the app and retry the wallet link process.

If all wallets are correctly linked under one account, the link wallet action will disappear, meaning you’re all set!

I’m trying to link my wallet in the Magic Eden mobile app but I’m stuck at the “Stake $ME” step. What should I do?

If you’re linking a new wallet in the Magic Eden mobile app and don’t have any $ME to stake, you may get stuck at the “Stake $ME” step without a clear way to proceed.

We’re aware of this and are working on a smoother flow. In the meantime, here’s what you can do:

  • Option 1: Swap for $ME

Head to the Swap tab in the app to swap other tokens for $ME.

  • Option 2: Buy $ME

Use the Buy option (on-ramp) in the mobile app to purchase $ME with a card or other payment method.

Once you’ve got $ME in your wallet, return to the Rewards section and complete the staking flow to finish linking your wallet.

We’ll be updating the app soon to make this clearer and add shortcuts to help you move through this step more easily.

Where can I find all of my linked accounts?

You can find all your linked accounts by going to magiceden.io/rewards and looking at the Stats tab on the bottom left. This view will give you a clear picture of how many wallets you have and your total aggregated staking power across all wallets.

I have $ME and I have an existing stake, but I’m not seeing it in my account. What’s going on?

If you already have $ME and have an existing stake, but nothing is showing up — you might be using an unlinked wallet.

Since we’ve moved away from the old ME Foundation linking system, any wallets that were previously linked under that setup are no longer connected.

Here’s what to do:

If you think your staked $ME is tied to a different wallet, head to the Magic Eden website > Account Settings > Wallets and link that staking wallet to your new unified profile.

Important: We can’t automatically detect $ME held or staked in a different, unlinked wallet — so if you’re not seeing your $ME, there’s a good chance you just need to relink the wallet where it lives.

Once it’s linked, your staking status and $ME should appear correctly in your Rewards view.
